ABOUT US

“I believe women should open their closets and wear clothing without any specific rules or expectations from others.”
– Patrise

INSPIRATION

My clothing style is simple but classic. The word “dress code” means the customary style of dress of a specified group. I spent 24 years in the military and had to wear my uniform according to military standards. I created the clothing line ~ Dresscode 202 to give honor to my experience in wearing the uniform and to my unit; 202nd Transportation Detachment, in which I proudly served.

About Patrise

As Owner and Designer Patrise Carpenter is the creator and stylist of Dresscode 202. A native of the District of Columbia, Patrise started learning how to sew and style clothes when she was just 12 years old. After high school she applied to college and was accepted into the Fashion Merchandising program at Howard University. Instead she decided to put off college to join the military. She believes the Army prepared her for the world of entrepreneurship by helping her develop skills in leadership, personal courage and loyalty. While serving in the military, she would take part in local fashion shows which helped her build a clientele as a local designer. Years later she earned her Bachelors of Arts Degree from The College of Notre Dame University for Business Management with a minor in Marketing. The first Dresscode 202 collection was a featured in Baltimore Fashion Week ~ Spring 2012 and it has been also featured in Syracuse Fashion Week Fall 2015 and Syracuse Style Spring 2016.
